Webmaster notes from visit on June 1, 2010:

Very nice brand new taproom in downtown Fort Collins right beside their own homebrew shop called Hops and Berries. Nice tables, comfortable chairs, and nice atmosphere. Good beer too. The brown ale has a good nut flavor and not overly sweet. The hefeweizen is well done. The others beers were good too, but these two stood out the most to me. They do not serve food, but it is a nice place to hang out and drink some beers, read, and/or play games. You are welcome to play their board games or read their beer books. Growlers, imperial pint glasses, and T-shirts for are sale. Beer garden coming soon.

Very large production brewery most known for Fat Tire, but every beer that is brewed here is of exceptional quality. New Belgium beer can be found at almost every bar or restaurant in Colorado. Fat Tire, 1554, and Sunshine Wheat are the most common. Personally, I tend to veer away from beer that is too mainstream in my opinion (think New Belgium, Samuel Adams, macros like Coors and Bud…), but I respect New Belgium for their quality beer and I have grown a liking to their new offering, Ranger IPA. Lots of grapefruit and citrus flavors, not too malty and not too bitter, although for me bitterness is a good thing. This is a well done IPA, which is expected from such a brewery. This is not a place to really hang out and drink beer. It is more set up for tours and beer to go. Tours fill up fast and require a reservation which can be made online. During the ninety minute tour five different beers are available to sample and you even get to pour your own beer. You’ll see lots of great artwork and find the tour entertaining. After the tour, you can purchase growlers, six packs, bombers, glasses, T-shirts, and other things. New Belgium really encourages riding bicycles which is fun and good for the environment. They have many cruiser style bicycles that are given away to lucky customers or loyal employees which can be seen parked all over the brewery inside and out.

Nice brewery and taproom. No food served. Many different beers to choose from. Three different sample trays of six different beers are offered. Many of the beers are only available in the taproom. Some unique styles are offered like steamed beer and sour beer (for the adventurous palate). My favorite here is Cutthroat Porter. Dark, but very sessionable with delicious chocolate and coffee flavors. Tours are offered at 1,2, and 3. Growlers, T-shirts, hats, glasses, and water bottles are just some of the merchandise available to purchase.

Webmaster notes from visit on May 30, 2010:

Located in downtown Fort Collins enter the pubside or the poolside. Both are inviting and offer an outdoor patio. Depending on your mood, you can visit the pubside if you’d like a more relaxed restaurant atmosphere with many tables and booths, or you can visit the poolside if you feel like playing games or watching sports. Most beers are offered at both sides and food menus are offered at both sides as well. I had some hot chicken wings which the chicken and sauce was good. I also had a buffalo burger which was cooked to my liking and good like expected. The beer list is extensive with samples coming in mini pilsner style glasses which I liked. I tried almost every beer they offered except the Opus Mega Alpha, which they were out of. I was disappointed since they claim this beer is 100+ IBU and I love bitter beers. All the beers I tried were good. The one that stood out the most to me was the green chili beer. The chili flavor was just right, not overpowering the base beer. Merchandise such as T-shirts is available to purchase as well as growlers of beer to go.
